Looking into their personal history, the brothers discover their father had visited a psychic after their mother's death and they turn to the same woman for answers of their own. Together they discover a malevolent poltergeist has inhabited the house and set out to exorcise it, but are blindsided when another unseen spirit steps in.

After Cora attempts suicide, Mike fights her mother, Virginia, to unplug her feeding tube.

The CSI's are called out to investigate the murder of a young woman who was about to sign her divorce papers. Soon the husband turns out to be the ideal suspect. The only strange thing about the case is the murder weapon: a nailgun. The case becomes complicated when one of the CSI's is attacked when he returns to the crime scene and ends up in hospital.
